Indian head massage and Reiki courses run according to demand. If you wish to do one, please let us know.

Please do not email us asking us when our next massage course is. We run a lot of massage courses in the first term, and a few more during the second term. Join the email list to hear about these when they are starting.

Do you run courses outside term times?

No. We run courses during university term only. Most things are during the first semester or the early part of the second semester, before exams and dissertations interrupt these activities. We normally run multiple beginners courses in the first term, with one or two more in the second term. Indian Head Massage, Intermediate Massage and Reiki attunements may be in either term.

Intermediate Massage Course

Posted by simon on 13 Jan 2008 | Tagged as: General

More info is coming soon but here’s a little info for those who can’t wait…
If you’ve enjoyed the beginners’s course then the next stage might be to try for the intermediate course. Much higher standard of massage is achieved.

Attendance each week is compulsory, there is 90 minutes of practical homework a week and the classes are smaller and more focused then for the Beginner’s Course. It’s still fun but it’s intense.

Entry onto the course is by way of a test lesson. You will be taught some new and valuable techniques to make it a worthwhile experience for those who aren’t given a space. Then you will swap back massages with someone I pair you with. You don’t have to be perfect or remember the routine or even try to follow the routine. You have to show that you have practised massage and have to beginnings of an understanding about the basic moves and how massage works. With a spark and some direction that’s all you need.

Syllabus: The details of the syllabus change with the progress of the group. The back, shoulders, neck and buttocks are covered in detail. All the most functionally and therapeutically important muscles in these areas are described with high-quality pictures in the handout and specific techniques are taught to work on these muscles.

Cost: £50-60 for EUSA students probably, though this is decided when we have an idea of numbers.

Next course: If you have done the Beginner’s course or have previous experience, make sure you are on the email list and you’ll hear about our next course. Also make sure we know you’re interested, preferably in person.

Contact details: To find out if there are still places on the course, please use the contact form below.

Quote: “I learned so much from this course and subsequent practise of the techniques taught that I found there was not that much to learn from the 8-month course leading to a professional qualification which I subsequently enrolled on.”
